Welcome to the Oz-EnviroLink List Server

Membership of Oz-EnviroLink is open to anyone with email access.

Oz-EnviroLink is an unmoderated list. Messages sent to the main Oz-EnviroLink address (Oz-EnviroLink@lists.austrop.org.au) are automatically distributed to all subscribers. Senders are asked to make absolutely certain that they want their postings to be seen by the whole list before sending them in. Please do not send private mail to the List Administrator at the list address, since this will be seen by all subscribers

The only rule governing submissions to the Oz-EnviroLink List is that postings should be of interest to the conservation/environmental issues community. Possible subjects might include the following (but should not necessarily be restricted to such):

  • Conservation issues
  • Biodiversity issues
  • Action Alert bulletins
  • Environmental news in general
  • Contact requests
Please save this message for future reference, especially if you are not familiar with List Servers. Although this may seem as a waste of disk space now, in 6 months you'll be glad you saved it. It will help you remember what lists you are subscribed to and what the UNSUBSCRIBE command is to leave the list so you avoid filling up your mailbox while you are on vacations. In fact you might create a new mail folder for subscription confirmation welcome messages like this one.

Once subscribed, you will receive all mail submitted to the list. You are, by the same token, invited to submit any items you would like to have posted on the list.

*The idea is that discussion should be informal, topical and conducive to exchange views. Contributors should not feel that their items must be definitive or of publication standard. This forum is designed for lively debate, quick response, or items of information, rather than for fully documented scholarship.

We look forward to reading your messages and hope that you will derive enjoyment, pleasure and profit from using this List. Please take time to read through the next section, as a lot of potential confusion can thereby be avoided. Thank you!

Please remember that, once your message is sent, it will automatically be forwarded to all subscribers to the list. Please specify a subject for your message in the SUBJECT: line and give your name and/or signature at the end of the message. Length and style of messages is a matter of individual choice, but contributors are of course asked not to post any messages which might cause offence. Responsibility for views expressed rests solely with the author of a message.

There is no copyright on messages. Therefore, contributors who do not wish to have their material quoted elsewhere should state this explicitly in their message. Otherwise, the normal etiquette regarding borrowing (i.e. appropriate acknowledgement and identification of source) is requested of anyone who may re-use material which first appeared on Oz-EnviroLink.

Complaints and sugestions arising from your use of this list should be addressed to the List Administrator.
