FEES & CHARGES

The Research Station is dependent upon user's fees for its operation. Fees will change; so prospective visitors should inquire about these when writing to the Station. To a certain degree, fees are levied on the ability to pay. Please note that there are no banking facilities in Cape Tribulation, although ATMs are available at the nearby store and backpacker's resort.

All food is provided and we would appreciate your cooking skills (we are also known as the Cape Tribulation Cooking Camp!).

University, School and College groups are catered for with basic camping including kitchen, shower and toilet facilities. - Please inquire for rates.

Australian based visitors pay Australian dollars, overeseas visitors in US Dollars (its the burger equity). If you cannot afford the fees, please contact the Director BEFORE you arrive, to negotiate a fee structure for you.

Financial aid:
(In addition to what you have already). When a person has a particularly interesting long-term project, which is within the capacity of the Station, but who cannot find funding, the Station Director may consider providing reduced rates for room and board, provided the person is prepared to devote about 40% of their time to Station activities.

How to pay:
Australian dollars equivalent to the Station, credit cards or bank check in Australian dollars (to "Austrop"). We cannot accept foreign currency traveler's checks.
