SCRAPBOOK 1998 - Regeneration


Members of the Daintree Rainforest Task Force and residents of the Daintree area attempted to convince the Australian Prime Minister, John Howard, during a recent visit to Daintree Village, (which has a history of settlement of over 130 years), that the Daintree World Heritage Area is "north, over the river". The present Australian Government is proving itself to be uninterested in environmental issues.
